Nook 3G + WiFi
Looking at the Nook's high end model in the eReader debate
When comparing the Nook 3G + WiFi to the other eReader options, the amount of differences added in aren't that significant. In terms of physical looks, the only difference between this device and the Nook-WiFi is that the Nook 3G has a grey back panel instead of white. In addition, it also weighs .5 ounces more, at 12.1 ounces instead of 11.6. Otherwise, it is the same device. Same size, same features, same functionality as the Nook WiFi.

The only major difference between the two devices, and so, the one we'll talk about here, is the addition of 3G. 3G is the service that allows the Nook to function like a phone, always being connected to the Internet so you can view books anywhere.
Whether or not you think the 3G is worth the extra 50 dollars really comes down to your personal preference. Do you think you'll need to look for books on the road, or will you be fine planning ahead and buying your books in advance. Do you mind having to make sure you have a wireless internet connection accessible when you want to search for books?
If these issues are a big deal for you, the Nook 3G makes a big difference. You can now avoid picking your books before you go on a vacation to the beach, and instead, pick the books you want while you're sitting on a beach chair.
