Barnes and Noble Nook WiFi

The WiFi nook enters the market at a new low price point

The Nook Wi-Fi is Barnes & Nobles latest addition to the Nook vs Kindle war, and it offers a lower price entry for people interested in an eReader device. Priced at $150, it is the cheapest device available between the two major ebook reader companies.

When it comes to the size, the nook is 7.7 inches big, and .5 inches thick. It weights 11.6 ounces and features an all white design. as a result, the device is about the same size as a paperback book so bringing it along with you shouldn't cause any additional issues.

Like the Amazon Kindle, the Barnes & Noble Nook WiFi features an eInk screen that allows incredible battery life and helps you avoid glare when reading out in the sun. However, what the Nook also has is a 3.5 inch color touch screen at the bottom. This visual aesthetic allows you to look through the books you have to pick the one you'd like to read next.

The device by default holds about 1500 eBooks, which is from 2GB of storage space. However, if you want to hold more, you can also use a microSD slot to add memory. This memory can also be used to play mp3s and audio books.

The major feature of the Nook Wi-Fi that sets it apart from the other eReaders is that it only uses WiFi for Internet connectivity. As a result, you can only shop for books when you are in a WiFi hot spot, such as your home or a Barnes and Noble. However, while in a Barnes & Noble, you can also read any book you like for free.

Overall, the features of the Nook Wi-Fi are very comparable to the other eReaders. However, without 3G capabilities, the device is priced much lower at $150.
